Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Ceasefire with Ukraine in 2024

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov does not expect a ceasefire to be agreed with Ukrainian authorities in 2024. He made this statement in an interview with the newspaper 'Izvestia.'

“I not only do not expect a ceasefire, but I expect that the objectives of the Northern Military District will certainly be realized,” Ryabkov said.

The senior Russian diplomat added that it is more likely that the military conflict in Ukraine will conclude not with the signing of a peace agreement, but with the complete fulfillment of the goals of the Russian special operation.

Ryabkov also sees no preconditions for the United States to try to “force” Ukraine into a ceasefire agreement with the Russian authorities.
