KP Member Ready to Live in Baku if Security is Guaranteed: 'Hraparak'
‘Hraparak’ newspaper reports: Vilən Gabrielian, born in Baku, initiated an exhibition titled “Armenian Historical and Cultural Heritage in Baku” in the National Assembly yesterday. When asked if he would consider living in Baku, he responded, “Yes, if security conditions are ensured by the Azerbaijani authorities. Azerbaijan must provide clear guarantees so that hundreds of thousands of Armenians can restore their rights and go live in the places where they were born – in the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
What about the security guarantees for Azerbaijanis from the Armenian government? “Armenia is a democratic state, and it can definitely guarantee the safety of citizens from any other country,” he stated.
Will you consider the opinions of the families of the victims? “The world has not been newly created; there are numerous countries that have gone through wars, lived in peace, fought again, and so on.”
Can you live next to the people who killed our soldiers and took our homeland? “That is, of course, a tragic situation, but still, communities must try to reconcile with each other—even after all this.”
The KP member believes that the issue of refugees' return should be discussed bilaterally.
