The Propaganda Against Armenians from Artsakh is Not Accidental: A New Bomb is Being Planted Under Our State
Political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan writes on his Facebook page: “A segment of our people, who were the first to adopt Christianity as a state religion, is criticizing their fellow compatriots who have recently suffered hundreds of casualties, been forcibly displaced, and lost everything. What is the nature of this criticism? It is a specific spread of hatred towards the Armenians from Artsakh.
They complain that our betrayed compatriots want to live in relatively decent homes, have normal jobs, and feel human again... They say, ‘What we give should be enough for you.’ If you don’t want it, go get an Azerbaijani passport and live however you want in your Artsakh. And this kind of trash thinking is starting to surface. They probably think that two months is enough for the Armenians from Artsakh to forget their fallen relatives, lost villages and towns, and homeland. They think that they have already tolerated those hated Armenians for too long. It’s time to get rid of them.
Such ignorant individuals, of course, do not understand what new bomb they are planting under our state and our people. They don’t even realize the devastation that the explosion of this bomb will cause our country. But others must understand this well and not allow society to be subjected to another destructive influence.
First, about the behavior of the Armenians from Artsakh. I not only do not exclude, but I also know well that there are, to put it mildly, many ungracious individuals among them. But these are exceptions. We should not define and characterize our 150,000 compatriots based on the behavior of these exceptions. Those who do such things are enemies of our people. And their propaganda is not accidental. It is a subversive activity organized by our enemies, which has been carried out among the people for years.
Secondly, yes, the Armenians from Artsakh should live in normal conditions, have well-paid work, and be able to adapt to the new realities. The entire nation should live this way, but especially the Armenians from Artsakh. Why especially the Armenians from Artsakh? For two reasons. First, because ordinary humanity requires this (not to mention interethnic solidarity and compassion), and second, because we must not allow an already betrayed and broken people to have a large mass of miserable and rejected mourners. This would destroy us all.
We must endure the pain. We must feed the hungry and heal the sick. We must take from ourselves and give to others. We must solve the problems of our loved ones at our own expense. We must be good Christians, good people, and good Armenians. It is time to stop rejecting the path of the Lord and walking down the paths of Satan. We have seen where such hatred has led us. Isn’t that enough? Do we want to be slaughtered again?”
