No Individuals Presented to the Investigating Authority from Sergey Bagratyan's Wife's Company, Says Investigative Committee
Today, the news outlet ‘Hetq’ reported that the police have detained the director and employees of a company engaged in mining activities registered under the name of Sergey Bagratyan's wife. It was noted that the employees were transferred from the unlawfully operated mining site to the investigative body. Operations at the sand mine have been halted.
Gor Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, informed AuroraNews that no individuals have been presented to the investigating authority. According to him, a report has been received from the police concerning illegal extraction activities. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 281, part one, of the RA Criminal Code (Engaging in entrepreneurial activities without state registration or accounting), Article 290, part one (Failure to pay taxes, duties, or other fees in large amounts by heads of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, physical persons, or other responsible persons), and Article 283, part one (Abuses in conducting public tenders or procurements).
The preliminary investigation is underway.
