How Can Artsakh Residents Benefit from the Housing Assistance Program? Deputy Minister Clarifies
Citizens displaced from Artsakh will be able to benefit from the housing assistance program after going through a specific process. During a press conference held at the humanitarian center of the Armenian government, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Davit Khachatryan presented the details of the program.
The state support program for housing assistance allows individuals to build their own homes in any of the border rural communities. The beneficiaries of the program are Armenian citizens, but considering that individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh may voluntarily acquire Armenian citizenship, they can also access existing state support programs.
"As of today, married couples can benefit from the program if at least one of them holds Armenian citizenship. It is necessary to acquire a plot of land in at least one of the 80 border communities, where they will be able to build their house," Khachatryan noted.
