Gas Price Review Unlikely, Says Garen Baghramyan

Tomorrow, November 29, a decision will be made regarding water tariffs,

however, consumers will not feel any changes. This was announced by Garen Baghramyan, the chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia, during a conversation with reporters. He noted that discussions and agreements have already taken place with the government regarding the continuation of subsidies, although the amount of the subsidy will change.

“The consumer will not feel anything. For socially vulnerable consumers, the water tariff is calculated at 180 drams, while today’s current rate of 208.4 drams will be reduced to 206 drams. However, for the consumer, it will continue to operate at 200 drams,” he said.

Regarding changes to the gas price, Baghramyan reminded that the last review took place on August 1 and the price remained unchanged. “If there is no change in gas prices at the border, I do not think there will be a review process. As a result of changes in the governmental agreement amid the latest negotiations and water tariff reviews, an agreement has been reached to fix the price at $165 for the next 10 years,” he stated.

Journalists inquired whether political processes, particularly the deterioration of Armenian-Russian relations, could affect gas prices. The chairman of the PSRC emphasized that he does not respond to questions of a political nature.
