The Market is Now Free, Those Interested Can Produce Electricity: Hakob Arshakyan
A free market has been established for energy importers and electricity producers; the market is now open, and those interested can produce, export, and import electricity from Armenia. This was announced today, November 28, by the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Hakob Arshakyan, during the conference titled "The Current State and Future of Armenia's Energy Sector."
According to him, several state programs, including legislative initiatives, are aimed at supporting electricity producers. "A favorable environment is being created in Armenia for investments in the energy sector, which consequently increases the level of the country's energy security and independence," he stated.
"The sustainable guarantee for the development of Armenia's electricity sector lies in the economically justified, efficient, and responsible utilization of renewable energy potential, the development of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, the regional integration of the electricity system, the diversification of supply routes and forms of energy resources, the implementation of energy efficiency and energy saving measures, and the digital transformation of the energy sector. All steps are directed towards this goal."
