Borrell: 'I am ready to meet Lavrov, but I will not have the opportunity'

The head of the EU diplomatic service, Josep Borrell, has announced that he does not plan to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Skopje during the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting, according to TASS.

“I have some experience in discussions with Minister Lavrov in difficult situations. I will attend the OSCE meeting; we must go there, as we are members of that organization, and we must express our views and counter Russia's statements. I am ready to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, but I will not have the opportunity to meet him because I must return immediately to participate in the European Defence Agency meeting,” Borrell stated at a press conference in Brussels after meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
