Blinken and Aliyev Discuss Possibility of Peace Treaty Between Yerevan and Baku

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a phone conversation on Monday with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during which he expressed support for the efforts aimed at signing a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, according to the State Department's press service.

"The sides discussed US support for efforts to reach a sustainable peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the American diplomatic service reported. During the conversation, Blinken also reaffirmed the United States' ongoing support for Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The head of American diplomacy informed the Azerbaijani president about Washington's efforts to expand cooperation with Armenia in pursuit of its 'prosperous democratic future.'
