Artsakh Residents Will Not Lose Support Programs After Obtaining Armenian Citizenship
Persons forcibly displaced from Artsakh will not lose access to social support programs after obtaining Armenian citizenship. This was announced by Davit Khachatryan, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, during a press conference at the Armenian government's humanitarian center. This issue has become a cause for concern among many Artsakh residents.
“We will definitely not link people's social status to their legal status. The fact that they have been forcibly displaced will not diminish after becoming citizens of Armenia,” Khachatryan stated. He emphasized that the acquisition of citizenship cannot affect the provision of social support.
