What is the Situation at the Upper Lars Checkpoint
Media reports indicate that the situation at the Lars checkpoint remains tense. Armenian traders' trucks, which are exporting food products to Russia, are being sent back to Armenia.
In a conversation with Auroranews, Lusine Mkrtchyan, head of the information and public relations department of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, mentioned that they issued a statement yesterday regarding the accumulation of Armenian trucks at the Upper Lars checkpoint, to which they have nothing to add.
It is worth noting that the State Revenue Committee had released a statement yesterday, specifically stating: "The direction towards the Russian Federation at the Upper Lars checkpoint is under constant monitoring, which clearly shows that many Armenian trucks are entering Russia.
As for the trucks that have stopped at the checkpoint and the concerns regarding perishable goods, problems are being promptly identified, and at the same time, relevant information is being transmitted to the Ministry of Economy and the Food Safety Inspection Body for joint discussions and planning of further actions."
