Russian Side Confirms Pashinyan's Upcoming Visit to St. Petersburg
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is set to arrive in St. Petersburg for the unofficial traditional meeting of the leaders of the CIS countries and the official meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was announced by Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia, as reported by the Alphanews portal.
According to Ushakov, Moscow has received a "signal from Yerevan" indicating that Pashinyan is planning to visit St. Petersburg at the end of December.
In October, it was reported that the Armenian Prime Minister chose to travel to Georgia instead of participating in the council of the heads of government of the CIS countries and the meetings of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Prior to that, Pashinyan also declined to attend the summit of the leaders of the CIS countries, opting instead to attend the inauguration of Yerevan's new mayor, Tigran Avinyan, the source writes.
