Armenia Participates in Strasbourg Christmas Market for the First Time

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia has initiated the country's first participation in the renowned Strasbourg Christmas Market in Europe. Over 60 Armenian artisans are showcasing 400 types of handcrafted works at this globally recognized fair.

The Armenian pavilion, decorated with Christmas and New Year symbols created with Armenian ornamentation, will embellish the 'Saint Thomas' square in Strasbourg for about a month (from November 24 to December 24).

For the past three days, visitors to the market have been offered the best samples of Armenian vibrant heritage, including carpet weaving, embroidery, textile art, and woodworking.

This significant platform at a pan-European level will contribute to the international recognition of Armenian cultural heritage, as well as to the establishment and expansion of intercultural dialogue.

It should also be noted that Armenia's inaugural participation in the Strasbourg Christmas Market was marked by a solemn opening ceremony, attended by high-ranking officials from France and Armenia. The program is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and under the coordination of the Museum of Folk Arts named after Hovhannes Sharambeyan,” the ministry's statement reads.
