Batumi Affected by Storm in the Black Sea, Central Streets Submerged
A powerful storm has been raging along the coast of Adjara, Georgia, for the second day, causing the central streets of Batumi to be flooded and damaging infrastructure, reports local agency Batumelebi.
The storm in the Black Sea reaches 4 to 5 on the Beaufort scale. Due to the strong waves, the infrastructure of Batumi's new boulevard has been damaged, and the central streets of the city have been submerged. Some residents are also experiencing power outages.
Witnesses are posting videos on social media showing how the waves reach nearby yards, destroying everything in their path. Infrastructure has been damaged, and municipal services in the neighboring village of Kobuleti have begun restoration efforts.
