Video: Powerful Storm in Crimea, Sea Floods Yevpatoria Highway, Trees Uprooted, Roofs Torn Off
The sea has burst its banks in Crimea, flooding the highway in the resort city of Yevpatoria. Russian media reports that the storm, with winds reaching up to 40 m/s, is uprooting trees and tearing off roofs.
Many areas of Yevpatoria have been flooded, and public transportation has been halted in Sevastopol. The storm has also reached Anapa and Krasnodar, where strong winds are wreaking havoc.
“The storm is raging in all cities of the Republic of Crimea and Krasnodar Krai. Trees are falling, power lines have been broken, and homes and streets are left without electricity,” reports Izvestia, calling it the “storm of the century.”
