VIDEO: You Can Buy Electricity Not Only from the EEC, but from Another Producer – Pashinyan

We have liberalized the electricity market, this is an extremely important decision, and I want our citizens to be aware of it. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while responding to citizens' questions.

“There is a rate for electricity, but since there are now various producers and each producer has its own rate, any electricity consumer can buy electricity not only from the EEC but can purchase it from the electricity producer. For example, you can say that you do not want electricity from this supplier and go negotiate with any solar plant or hydro plant and acquire electricity from them at your agreed rate.

Previously, only the EEC sold electricity, and we all bought from it; we could not purchase from anyone else, but now you can buy from another electricity seller. For example, a person living in Armavir can buy from the Syunik region, and the EEC is obligated to deliver the electricity to you,” he said.
