VIDEO: They Could Have Installed a Virus, Pornography – Martirosyan on Turkish Hackers Compromising QR Codes in Textbooks

Several QR codes in textbooks intended for children’s supplementary information have been compromised by Turkish hackers, resulting in the display of the Turkish flag when the code is scanned. Media expert Samvel Martirosyan announced this on his Facebook page.

Martirosyan noted that the Turkish flag has now been removed, and the website is currently offline. “Since I keep getting messages about this, let me clarify. Several QR codes on these textbooks led to this issue (the Turkish flag has already been removed, and the website is simply offline). The publishing house that printed these books temporarily lost control of the site, which was hacked by Turkish hackers,” he wrote.

“However, this is the second unfortunate incident with the QR codes in the last two weeks, leading us to a clear conclusion: when creating digital tools, it is crucial to measure ten times before printing. P.S. Just to add, at least it was only an image. They could have installed a virus, pornography, phishing—anything,” Martirosyan concluded.
