Pashinyan on Not Receiving Weapons Purchased from Russia
During a Q&A session with citizens today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the issue regarding Armenia's payment of millions of dollars to Russia for weapons that have not yet been received. He also noted that the money has not been refunded, stating, "Yes, there is such a problem."
Pashinyan mentioned that discussions are taking place regarding mechanisms to resolve these issues. "For example, one option could be a reduction of Armenia's debt to Russia by the amount of the paid funds. This is not the only option, however. But here, too, Russia itself needs armaments, and we are ready to work on this. I hope these discussions will lead to concrete results," he said.
According to Pashinyan, given the friendly relations between Armenia and Russia as well as the current realities, the Ministry of Economy has invited the Russian side for consultations to discuss this situation and clarify possible outcomes or conclusions. The Prime Minister hopes that these consultations will occur as soon as possible in order to resolve the issues in a working, normal, and friendly atmosphere.
