Hamas Presents Additional Demands Regarding Hostage Deal

Hamas has presented additional demands regarding the hostage deal. This was reported from Jerusalem by a BBC correspondent, citing a source within the Israeli government. It is reported that Hamas has proposed additional conditions under which it agrees to cease military operations and release 50 hostages in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

"The deal, which originally included a four-day ceasefire and the release of 50 hostages taken by Hamas, was announced on Wednesday. It was anticipated that the agreement would begin to be implemented this morning. However, on Thursday night, it was announced that this deadline would be postponed by one day. Earlier today, both Israel and international mediators, including Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, stated that the postponement is purely technical and related to the need to carefully work out logistical issues," the agency writes.

It remains unclear at this point what new demands Hamas has presented.
