Video: Storm in Kuzbass Tears Roofs Off Buildings and Topples Trees
In the Kuzbass region of Russia, strong winds have torn roofs off buildings, uprooted trees, and flipped over bus stops. In Prokopyevsk, emergency power outages have occurred due to the severe weather.
Eyewitnesses report from Kiselevsk, Vesennyaya Street, that the strong wind flipped over a bus stop, while in Novokuznetsk, a tree has fallen on a residential building damaging its roof.
Residents of Kiselevsk are also sharing footage of the overturned bus stop and fallen trees. The roof of the "Magnit" store in Leninsk-Kuznetsky has also been blown off.
Due to the adverse weather conditions, emergency power outages, water supply interruptions, and heating outages have been reported in various parts of Prokopyevsk. All municipal services are working in an enhanced mode, and repairs are underway to address these issues, stated Maxim Shkarabeynikov, the head of Prokopyevsk, on his Telegram channel.
As reported by Sergey Kuznetsov, the head of Novokuznetsk, a storm warning has been issued for the city, with wind speeds reaching 25-30 meters per second. "Please, if possible, stay at home and park vehicles away from trees and buildings. There is an emergency response headquarters in the city, and my deputies are assessing the situation regarding roads and infrastructure," he wrote.
