What Assets Does MP Rustam Bakoian of the Civil Contract Have?

The Chair of the Permanent Commission on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly, Taguhi Tovmasyan, has been unlawfully deprived of her powers, and temporarily, the commission's responsibilities are being fulfilled by Deputy Head Rustam Bakoian, who receives a scholarship. Rustam Bakoian, a member of the 'Civil Contract' party, has declared an annual income of 8 million 785 thousand drams, of which 576 thousand drams is a scholarship from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia. This was reported by the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper.

Bakoian receives a salary of 8 million 209 thousand drams from the National Assembly staff. He has declared a private residential house located in the Vedi community of the Ararat region, which was acquired in 2019. Bakoian did not specify the method of acquisition for the residential house. He has not declared any other real estate or transport vehicles. However, Bakoian stated that he has been operating a car for more than 90 days, which does not legally belong to him, meaning he is driving a vehicle not registered in his name.

He is also associated with an apartment in Russia, which the media had reported on, but again, there is officially nothing in his name. Bakoian's bank assets at the beginning of the year amounted to 1 million 185 thousand drams, but by the end of the year, they had dropped to zero. Cash assets totaled 18 thousand USD and 23 million drams.

Bakoian's father, Kupar Bakoian, has declared a private residential house in the Nor Kyanq community of the Ararat region. His father's cash assets amounted to 24 million drams, while his annual income was 442 thousand drams, which is a pension from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia. His mother, Zurba Bakoian, has declared the same residence as her son. His mother's annual income amounted to 451 thousand drams, also a pension from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia.

It should also be noted that Bakoian is known for his impulsive character; he frequently finds himself in the midst of fights and criminal stories. Even his civil wife publicly stated that MP Bakoian had regularly assaulted her and demanded money.
