“Despite All Warnings, Yerevan Did It” - Zakharova

The Armenian authorities have decided to ratify the Rome Statute for political reasons. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing.

“Despite all warnings... Yerevan, purely for political considerations, nevertheless decided to ratify the Rome Statute. Moscow offered to use the ICC mechanisms without the adoption of the statute, but Yerevan ignored the suggestion,” Zakharova emphasized.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that there is a possibility to resolve the issues related to the Rome Statute, if Yerevan is interested.
