Russia is Preparing 'Maidan-3' in Ukraine, Says Zelensky

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated in an interview with Bloomberg that Russia is preparing a disinformation operation targeting Ukrainian society. This effort aims to create division within the country and sow 'chaos' that could lead to the removal of the current government.

According to Zelensky, intelligence data from Ukraine has been corroborated by the country's allies. Bloomberg clarifies that this plan has become known in the country as 'Maidan-3', as the Russian authorities consider the months of protests that led to President Viktor Yanukovych's resignation in 2014 to be a coup.

'For them, Maidan is a coup, so the operation is clear,' added Zelensky.

Earlier, Online.ua reported on a large-scale informational attack dubbed 'Maidan-3', aimed at destabilizing Ukraine, citing sources from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. According to them, the Russian security services' information campaign is expected to unfold in November-December 2023. It is also suggested that the curator of the operation is allegedly Sergey Kiriyenko, head of the Kremlin's political bloc, with the ideologist being former presidential aide Vladislav Surkov.
