Wildberries Changes Rules for Sellers and Buyers

The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia announced via its Telegram channel that during an inspection organized in the name of Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, the online store Wildberries altered approximately 20 provisions regulating the relationship between sellers and buyers.

One of the changes stipulates that buyers are no longer obligated to check the quality of a product at the time of receipt. The return period will begin from the refusal of acceptance (the buyer can check the quality of the product after receiving it and return it if it is defective or has flaws).

Additionally, buyers will now be able to refuse any type of purchased item, including electronics (previously, buyers could not return several types of products).

"The delivery time of the product can only be extended with the buyer's agreement. The timeframe for discussing the request for product replacement has been reduced," the announcement stated.

According to the new rules, buyers will also be able to cancel their orders through their personal accounts. Furthermore, the reimbursement of Wildberries' expenses for returning quality goods will only be preserved in cases of low resale value, significant delivery distance, and product characteristics (if it is large, fragile, etc.).

Wildberries is an international large online platform that has been operating in the market for 19 years. Its geography covers seven countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Israel. It has been operating in Armenia since 2018.
