Image of Satan Discovered on 230-Year-Old Canvas After Restoration

After restoration, an image of Satan has been discovered on a 230-year-old canvas, reports the New York Post. The image was found on a painting by 18th-century British artist Joshua Reynolds. The subject of the canvas is based on a work by Shakespeare.

Experts have concluded that the painting had previously been covered with several layers. "The restoration was quite difficult since that section was painted in earth tones and dark colors that dried more slowly," the specialists noted.
