Human Rights Defender's Rapid Response Team Visits Police Station Again, Holds Private Conversation with Fatima Zurabova
Under the assignment of the Human Rights Defender, the Rapid Response Team visited the Kanaker-Zeytun Police Division in Yerevan on the evening of November 14 to assess the situation regarding the rights of Fatima Zurabova. This was reported by the Defender's office.
During the visit, representatives of the Defender met with officials from the Police and Investigative bodies and received necessary clarifications. Subsequently, a meeting was held with the lawyer who arrived at the Investigative body with the aim of defending the interests of Fatima Zurabova.
On November 15, the Defender's Rapid Response Team again visited the mentioned police division and held a private conversation with Fatima Zurabova. Several issues raised by her, including concerns about security, were discussed with representatives from the Police and civil society organizations actively involved in the process.
Later, according to information received from the Police, Fatima Zurabova was moved to a safe location. The raised issues are under the immediate attention of the Human Rights Defender.
It is worth recalling that on November 10, reports were received regarding the disappearance of Fatima Zurabova, born in 2002. As a result of measures taken by the officers of the Kanaker-Zeytun Police Division, Fatima Zurabova was discovered on Proshyan Street in Ashtarak at 20:45 on November 14 and subsequently taken to the Kanaker-Zeytun Police Division for presentation to the investigative body.
