We Will Do It at Our Convenient Time: Pentagon Chief

The United States may respond to attacks against its bases in the Middle East at a time of Washington's choosing. This statement was made by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin to reporters in the capital of India, addressing questions about the attacks on American military bases in the region. This information is reported by TASS.

“The safety of our people is our top priority. We cannot predict or forecast when we will strike. We will do it at our convenient time. Attacks on our facilities and personnel must cease,” Austin’s words are quoted by the Indian ANI agency.

It is noteworthy that Austin is in New Delhi to participate in the “2+2” format India-US ministerial talks, which are held annually in the last five years. Participants from the Indian side include Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and the Minister of Defence, while from the American side, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the Pentagon chief are attending.
