Armenia Proposes Agreement to Russia Amidst Ratification of Rome Statute: Arshakyan
Amid the ratification of the Rome Statute, Armenia has diplomatically proposed to Russia to sign a bilateral intergovernmental agreement that would exclude the application of international court decisions regarding issues between the two countries. This was stated by the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Hakob Arshakyan, in response to a question from 'Azatutyun'.
He noted that no response has yet been received from Moscow. 'In legal terms, this means we could have a bilateral agreement that excludes the application of international court decisions regarding issues between the two countries. We have proposed this, and while we have not received a response, there is still time before it comes into effect, and I hope there will be progress,' Arshakyan elaborated.
The Vice Speaker also added that Yerevan has signed a similar agreement with Washington.
Armenia has proposed an agreement to Russia that would allow for bypassing the Rome Statute.
