Father of Family Murdered in Phemzashen Demands Execution of Defendants

The father of the family who was brutally murdered in Phemzashen has demanded the execution of the two defendants in the case. The first court session regarding the murder of 31-year-old Zarine Meliksetyan and her two children took place at the Yerevan Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Artush Gabrielyan.

During the preliminary hearings, the prosecutor requested an extension of the detention of defendants Vruyr Barseghyan and Arkadi Barseghyan for another three months. The legal heir of the victim, the father of the murdered family, stated that instead of extending detention, they should be executed.

“Both of them must be executed on the spot; nothing else will resolve this issue,” he declared.

It is noteworthy that on November 9, 2022, the bodies of the 31-year-old resident of the village and her 12 and 8-year-old children were discovered in Phemzashen.
