Russia is responding calmly and balanced to the attempts of NATO countries to expand their sphere of influence, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin. This information is reported by RIA Novosti.

“We see all of this. And together with our friends, primarily the People’s Republic of China, we respond calmly and balanced, strengthening our defense capabilities,” the Russian president concluded.

According to Putin, the United States is increasingly “drawing all the countries of the alliance into creating a tense situation in the Asia-Pacific region,” attempting to “create new geopolitical alliances there,” guided primarily by its own selfish interests.
