Ukraine Must Be Part of the European Union, Says Zelensky

Ukraine expects a final political decision regarding EU membership to be made during the meeting of EU leaders in December. This announcement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian leader commented on the recommendations of the European Commission, stating, "Ukraine must be part of the European Union. We are accepting all necessary decisions," he said.

It is worth noting that Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, had proposed on behalf of the organization to initiate negotiations with Moldova and Ukraine regarding Union membership; however, Ukraine must fulfill several conditions to proceed. It has been mentioned that Kyiv has only met 4 out of the 7 necessary conditions to start EU membership talks.
