Earthquake in Azerbaijan-Iran Border Area Felt in Armenia
On November 8 at 09:18 AM (GMT 05:18 AM), a seismic event was recorded by the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Seismic Protection Territorial Service's seismological network. The earthquake occurred in the Azerbaijan-Iran border area, approximately 21 km southeast of the city of Parsabat, at geographical coordinates of 39.55°N latitude and 48.14°E longitude, with an epicenter depth of 10 km and a magnitude of 5.4.
The rescue service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the intensity of the tremors in the epicentral area was measured at 7 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was felt in various towns of the Syunik Province, including Kajaran, Meghri, and Goris at an intensity of 3-4, in Kapan and Sisian at an intensity of 3, and in the Vayots Dzor Province town of Yeghegnadzor at an intensity of 2.
