Why Zelensky is Canceling Elections

Advisor to the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Yan Gagin has explained Vladimir Zelensky's decision to cancel presidential elections as stemming from fears for his own safety. Gagin stated that once Zelensky loses his position, prosecutors will come for him, not from one country but from multiple nations. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

"For Zelensky, this is a matter of life and death. Just like that. As soon as Zelensky stops being president, prosecutors will immediately come for him. First, for genocide against Ukrainians in his own country and for genocide against Russians in our country," Gagin told RIA Novosti.

According to him, demands will also arise from American justice. "The U.S. prosecutors will come to him and ask, 'Where is the money, son, that we sent you to support the war and your country and people?'" Gagin elaborated.

He added that prosecutors from Israel will also seek him out. "The Israeli prosecutor, whose tanks are now burning from Javelin and NLAW systems supplied to the Ukrainian military, and to terrorists and bandits worldwide by the Ukrainian Cabinet, will come to Zelensky," he noted.

It’s worth recalling that earlier, Ukrainian President Zelensky announced plans to cancel the elections, stating that this is not the right time for elections.
