Russian Court Freezes Armenian Company's Accounts Over Unshipped Engines to Utair

The Arbitration Court of Tyumen Region in Russia has decided to freeze the accounts of Aquila Technics LLC, a contractor for Utair Airlines, due to a claim regarding unreceived engines amounting to nearly 176 million rubles and 1.5 million US dollars, according to arbitration case materials. TACC reports.

According to the information, Utair had previously approached the Arbitration Court of Tyumen Region requesting preliminary interim measures in the form of seizure of nearly 175 million rubles and 1.5 million US dollars from the bank accounts of Aquila Technics LLC.

The court, upon reviewing the arguments presented in the application and examining the case materials, granted the request for securing the claim.

As per the case materials, Utair stated that Aquila Technics LLC failed to supply engines for the aircraft of the airline at Tyumen Airport. “As indicated by the applicant, a supply contract was signed between UTair Airlines and Aquila Technics on May 30, 2022, under which the airline was to receive the engines. At the same time, according to Utair, Aquila Technics LLC has not delivered them and has not refunded the money,” the case materials reveal.
