EU to Provide 100 Million Euros in Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced that the European Union is increasing humanitarian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip by an additional 25 million euros. This was reported by Kommersant.ru.

“Today I can announce that we are increasing humanitarian aid for Gaza by another 25 million euros. This means the EU will spend a total of 100 million euros on humanitarian assistance for the peaceful population of Gaza,” Ursula von der Leyen said during a meeting.

She also added that the EU continues to work with Israel, Egypt, and the UN to “allow more convoys into Gaza, including corridors and pauses for humanitarian needs.” On October 15, the EU had already increased the aid for the Gaza Strip from 50 million euros to 75 million euros.

According to Josep Borrell, the EU's foreign policy chief, the war between Israel and Hamas is a result of a “collective political and moral failure.”
