Assistant to Ukraine's Armed Forces Commander Killed in Grenade Explosion
Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, has died due to a grenade explosion near Kyiv. Reports indicate that the explosion occurred as a result of mishandling of ammunition.
Authorities in the village of Chayky, located in the Kyiv region, discovered five more grenades in one of the houses.
Ukrainian media, citing sources, report that the deceased is Henadii Chastyakov, who served as the assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Commander Zaluzhnyi has confirmed the death of his assistant and close friend, Henadii Chastyakov. An unknown explosive device was triggered from one of the gifts received by Chastyakov.
