Saudi Arabia's Armed Forces Put on High Combat Readiness

Saudi Arabia's armed forces have been put on high combat readiness following clashes with Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, who have also attempted to launch missiles toward the Kingdom in the direction of Israel. This information was reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.

According to agency sources, four Saudi soldiers were killed in combat with Houthis in the Jizan Mountain province near the border with Yemen. After the Saudi military intercepted a missile launched towards Israel, protocols related to high readiness status have been activated across all branches of the Kingdom's armed forces.

This marks the first incident resulting in the deaths of Saudi soldiers since April 2022, when the government signed a temporary ceasefire agreement with the Houthis. Earlier, Houthi leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi stated that the group would launch drones and missiles if the U.S. intervened directly in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
