"The Conspiracy That Has Been Brewing Against Me for Months Has Taken Form": Director of Tumanyan Museum Appeals to Minister of Education
Ani Yeghiazaryan, the director of the Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum, writes on her Facebook page: "Hey, you all be well, just please listen, let me tell you something... /H.T./
Quoting Hovhannes Tumanyan, it is considered an unforgivable act to speak about him beyond the borders of Armenia, and this incurs punishment from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, leading to dismissal from work (or, generously, urging to resign on one’s own accord). This is framed as the only solution, as otherwise it could be seen as retreating by the Directorate, and acting without submission and flattery would set a precedent that might encourage many. This latter seems not to be a good thing.
Under the guise of false piety and civility, the conspiracy that has been brewing against me for months has taken form, condensed into one order. However, I am sure that with the collaborative and dedicated work of the exceptional staff of the Tumanyan Museum, the mission of connecting the Armenian people and others to the world of Tumanyan’s thought and word will continue in Armenia and beyond, even in distant corners of the world. Since everywhere it is accepted as a path toward light, truth, humanism, and wisdom. And that flight cannot be halted by anything or anyone.
The approach adopted by certain officials of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports to cover up their own inaction only brings a smile. Dear Minister, I kindly ask you to give me the opportunity for meetings and open discussions without intermediaries."
