Russia Adopts New Law Affecting Armenian Citizens
The Russian government is easing the process for companies and citizens from several friendly countries to engage in business in Russia. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a meeting with his deputies.
“The signed decree establishes a list of 25 countries whose citizens and legal entities will be able to open accounts or deposits in Russian banks in a simplified manner. This opportunity is also available for citizens from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Brazil, India, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and several other countries,” Mishustin elaborated.
“For this, foreign citizens must present a package of necessary documents from a credit institution located in their country before entering Russia. Upon arrival, they will be able to make payments in our banks. Of course, this is very convenient for everyone coming to us—tourists and entrepreneurs alike. We hope that the adopted decisions will help improve cooperation between the business communities of partner states,” the Russian government website quoted Mishustin.
The list includes Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia, Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mongolia, the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
