Number of Armenians Missing Due to Azerbaijan Over the Past 31 Years Revealed

From 1992 to 2023, the number of individuals missing due to the Azerbaijani military operations against Artsakh and Armenia stands at 1,016. This information was provided to ArmeniaToday by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

According to the Committee's spokesperson, Gor Abrahamyan, the number of missing persons during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War (1992–1994) is 777.

Additionally, the report states that as a result of the 44-day war in Artsakh in 2020, 195 individuals are considered missing, including 20 civilians and 175 military personnel. During the Azerbaijani attack on September 13-14, 2022, two soldiers went missing in Armenia.

As per the Committee's data, following the Azerbaijani attack on Artsakh on September 19, 2023, to date, 12 civilians and 30 soldiers remain unaccounted for.

On September 13, 2022, Azerbaijani Armed Forces launched a large-scale attack against the Armenian positions in Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk.

It is worth recalling that on September 19, 2023, the Azerbaijani military violated the ceasefire along the entire length of the contact line, delivering missile and artillery strikes. As a result of the attack, 100,632 residents of Artsakh were forcibly displaced.
