A gas pipeline has caught fire in the vicinity of the Combined Heat and Power Plant 16 in Moscow, according to the Shot Telegram channel. Reports indicate that the employees of the power plant have been evacuated.
It has been clarified that extinguishing the fire will only be possible after disconnecting the power plant from electricity. There are no reports of injuries at this time. Meanwhile, the Mash Telegram channel adds that the fire has been classified as a first-degree complexity fire.
According to RIA Novosti, three boilers are burning in the vicinity of the power plant, and part of the boiler house roof has collapsed.
The previous major fire in a Russian thermal power plant occurred in July, when a fire broke out at the Veliky Novgorod power plant, covering an area of 2,300 square meters.
