Peskov Comments on Pashinyan's Interview with The Wall Street Journal

Russia continues to seek ways to assist Armenia and Azerbaijan in the signing of a peace treaty, which is essential for stabilizing the situation in the region, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Of course, efforts are ongoing to help Baku and Yerevan to move forward in signing a peace treaty. This is necessary for stabilizing the situation in the region and achieving a more positive, viable standard of living throughout the region,” Peskov stated in response to questions about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements during his interview with The Wall Street Journal.

Additionally, Peskov noted that in the Kremlin, they are “not inclined to perceive The Wall Street Journal as a primary source,” thus they expect to receive all relevant information during meetings with Armenian representatives.

“And, of course, it's not good for Russia and Armenia to communicate through newspapers, especially through The Wall Street Journal,” he emphasized, adding that Russia has a very broad agenda for dialogue with their Armenian friends.
