Armenians' Fines and Acts to Be Annulled: Traffic Police Statement
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports: “Our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have entered the Republic of Armenia in their own vehicles or by using other means of transportation. In some cases, they have committed administrative violations that have been recorded by police officers and video and photo recording devices installed throughout the republic.
For about a month, the police have undertaken precautionary measures, after which the violators were held administratively responsible. However, considering the psychological state of our compatriots who have been forcibly displaced, as well as the fact that they are not familiar with the traffic peculiarities and legislative requirements of the Republic of Armenia, a decision has been made to regard the violations committed from September 21 to October 25 as having occurred under extreme necessity.
Consequently, the administrative acts drawn up will be annulled, and ongoing proceedings will be terminated. Starting from October 26, all violations will be duly documented and subject to enforcement. Given that adherence to traffic regulations is essential for ensuring the safety of all participants in the traffic, we urge everyone to comply with the traffic rules.”
