Israeli Foreign Ministry representative Lior Hayat addressed Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan's statements regarding Hamas, noting that they will not change the "horrors" caused by the Hamas movement. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Israel vehemently rejects the outrageous statements made by the Turkish president regarding Hamas terrorists. Even this attempt by the Turkish president to defend the terrorist organization and his provocative words will not change the horrors that the entire world has witnessed,” Hayat's statement reads.

Earlier, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated in the Turkish parliament that Ankara does not consider the Palestinian Hamas radical movement a terrorist organization but rather a "liberation group" fighting for the freedom of the Palestinian people against Israel.
