Erdogan Does Not Consider Hamas a Terrorist Organization and Has Cancelled His Visit to Israel
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has declared that Ankara views the Palestinian group Hamas not as a terrorist organization, but as a "liberation movement." This was reported by TASS.
He stated that Turkey has no issues with Israel, but disapproves of its policies towards the Palestinians. Furthermore, Erdogan mentioned that all upcoming visits by Turkish officials to Israel have been cancelled, including his own visit.
"In my life, I once shook the hand of a man named Netanyahu. We had good intentions, but they offended us. We had a plan to go to Israel, but we canceled it and will not go," Erdogan noted.
The Turkish president called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian groups, as well as the exchange of hostages.
According to Erdogan, the U.S. does not seek justice in the world, and therefore, together with Israel, they will fail.
