Turks Defile the Tombstone of the Grandson of the First Armenian Catholicos Grigor Lusavorich in Amarass

Political scientist Edgar Elbakyan reports: “The Turks have defiled the tombstone of the grandson of the first Armenian Catholicos Grigor Lusavorich in Amarass. Yet, people are surprised that history textbooks are poor and not national. The enemy’s plans are being implemented both on the ground—in physical life—and in hearts—in spiritual life. Why should a de facto government, which has handed over the first school established by Mesrop Mashdots in Amarass, where the relics of the first Catholicos' grandson are buried, allow the existence of a subject on the history of the Armenian Church or other segments of national history? After all, this would raise the question, ‘What happened, where did everything go?’ Do you remember how the textbooks of the Bolshevik period circumvented the role of elites in history and attributed everything to the popular masses? If the opposite were done, there would be the question of how, from where, and with what money the Bolshevik elite emerged, destroying the entire Russian Empire and civilization. In the same way, the de facto authorities of Armenia, hand in hand with the enemy, will do everything possible to erase Armenian history and traces, so that the question does not arise about how it happened that within just 5 years of their rule, the enemy gained control of all of Artsakh, where Armenians have lived for 5000 years. This will continue until a national government arises in Armenia…”
