The Oath Ceremony Took Place in Violation of the Law: Statement from 'Mother Armenia'

The 'Mother Armenia' faction has issued a statement: 'The 'Mother Armenia' faction will not participate in the extraordinary session of the Yerevan City Council scheduled for October 26 regarding the appointment of deputy mayors. Like in the case of the mayoral election session, the faction finds it inappropriate to participate in this session as well, considering the lack of quorum.

We note that the process of assuming the position of the capital's leader—the oath ceremony—took place in violation of the law, and the representative from the ruling party currently holding the mayor's position is not authorized to preside over the council session.'
