The Explosion on the Crimean Bridge Was Organized by Ukraine: The Washington Post
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has warned its employees in Kyiv about various plans of Ukrainian special services, including a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge. According to The Washington Post, referencing its sources, the explosions on the Crimean Bridge and attacks on Russian ships by drones involved elite units of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which were formed and trained in close cooperation with the CIA.
The publication indicates that the American side expressed concerns about the first explosion on the bridge, which Ukraine had organized. According to a Ukrainian official, there were several instances where Kyiv informed the U.S. about its plans and received a brief response regarding the American side's willingness to participate in such actions.
The article also mentions that one of the targets was Darya Dugina, a Russian nationalist, philosopher, and proponent of the theory of Eurasianism, who died in a car explosion near Moscow, as well as Vladlen Tatarsky.
Furthermore, the article notes that CIA employees prepared Ukrainian agents near Kyiv, capable of operating behind the front lines. According to the newspaper, the CIA has worked with the A Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine to create an entirely new department focused on "active measures" against Russia, isolated from other SBU units. This unit was reportedly called the "Fifth Department."
"The program consisted of forming units capable of operating behind the front lines and playing the roles of covert groups. According to our information, the recruits were located outside Kyiv, where selected newcomers received training from CIA employees," The Washington Post cites an anonymous Ukrainian official involved in this work.
It is worth noting that the publication earlier reported that Dugina's daughter was killed by Ukrainian special services.
