France’s Defense Minister: Armenia Must Be Given the Opportunity to Protect Its Civilian Population and Borders
It is essential to give Armenia the opportunity to protect its civilian population and ensure the defense of its borders. On Monday, we will formalize the acquisition of a certain amount of weaponry from French manufacturers by Armenia. These words were conveyed by the Ambassador of France to Armenia, Olivier Duchesne, citing France’s Minister of Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Defense of Armenia had previously announced that at the invitation of Minister Lecornu, Armenia’s Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan is on a working visit to France on October 22.
Last week, Minister Lecornu announced during a Senate committee discussion on the 2024 budget that France will sell defense weapons to Armenia. “It is necessary to give Armenia the opportunity to protect its civilian population and ensure the defense of its borders. On Monday, we will formalize the acquisition of a certain amount of weaponry from French manufacturers by Armenia,” he stated.
