Tigran Avinyan Awards Police Lieutenant Colonel Haykaz Jomardyan with Gold Medal: What is Known About Him

The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, has awarded Police Lieutenant Colonel Haykaz Jomardyan, commander of the special forces unit of the Yerevan Police Department, with a gold medal.

According to Avinyan's decision, "Guided by clause 1 of point 5 and point 10 of the annex No. 1 of the Yerevan City Council decision N 604-N dated February 12, 2013, for his significant contribution to maintaining public order and diligent activity, Police Lieutenant Colonel Haykaz Jomardyan is awarded a gold medal by the Mayor of Yerevan."

According to information circulated in the media, last year on September 21, it was under his command that parents of fallen soldiers were taken from Yerablur.

It is noteworthy that a criminal case was initiated regarding the incident on September 21, 2022, at the Yerablur military pantheon, where violence was directed against the parents of fallen servicemen. To date, no one has been held accountable in the criminal proceedings.
